A fun day

Hi,Yesterday was fun let me tell you in the paragraphs below.

First,it was my aunt who picked us up,me and my brother. We went to the Mega zone(Laser Tag) and got there at 2:10 and we have to go in at 2:30 so  we have to wait for 20 minutes and there was also an arcade inside and in that 20 minutes we decided to play some pool table for 2 dollars.

After that the 20 minutes was over and we have to go inside to watch a fast video for instructions and rules. When it was time to play my heart was beating so fast because I was nervous. It was also not fair because there was four of us and that's me,my brother,my aunt and my aunt's husband and  there was 6 or 7 of them anyways it was a little bit dark inside and we have to split up. 

We were running but we weren't supposed to because its against  the rules but we were still running we were sweating hard out. When the  game was over we went to the McDonald's and brought frozen for all of us.

After that we came home to pick up  some clothes because were going to the pools and we also need to bring a cousin because she's going today to Samoa and we also need to bring my baby brother. when we got there the girl told us to wait for an hour for the other people to go because it was full so we waited at the park. 

When we  finally got in, we changed, me and my cousin was about to jump in when the the lady said to stop and said that we are not allowed to swim in our T-shirts not like we have to go in without  a T-shirt but we have to wear a  swimming material one,so she said to go to the front desk to see if there are any swimming T-shirt to swim in but all we found was two T-shirts one was a mini shirt that  I have to wear and the other one was a boy T-shirt that  my  cousin have to wear.

 When we got in the pool I didn't want to go out again because of my shirt. When we finished we went and had frozen again and chips and we thank my aunt and uncle and when we got home we told our parents. It was a fun day for us a really fun day.

So that's it!, I told you all about yesterday.  I hope you had a nice day yesterday,goodbye.

Merry Christmas

Hi,Exciting moment is here,its Christmas eve and I hope you guys are having fun. I bet all of you have a lot of presents to open. My family is not doing much this Christmas. Its also Jesus Christ birthday and all of us should wish him a happy birthday. Guess what present I have, for my parents? my present for my parents is to respect and listen. That's  all from me and I also want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!.

What I did this week

Hi everybody,Today is Sunday and I would like to tell you what I did this whole week.
On Monday morning me and my brother had to do our chores that my mum have written on the fridge.
And after we finished my brothers friends would come and pick him up,while I stayed home doing some other chores and looking after my little siblings, while my mum is doing other important things like my dads citizenship. On Tuesday morning we did the same thing and even on Wednesday. On Thursday was different me and my family went to visit our old aunt and old uncle that's from my mum side. On Friday me and my brother did some chores in the morning, while we were doing our chores someone knocked on the front door and when I went to open it, my aunt jasmine that is my mum's third little sister was standing with chocolates in her hands. She said"Merry Christmas"and she laughed and she came inside. We ate chocolates and  she also said that shes taking me and my brother to the pools but my brother didn't want to go because his friends are picking him up soon to go  play rugby at the park.After it was only me and my aunt that are going to the pools and we spend like 3 hours and  45 minutes in the pools and we met a little boy. After, we came to the takeaway and we had hot dog, chips and fish and we had so much fun. The next day we did a lot of chores but we managed to finish it and we ended that day strong. Today we didn't go church because we woke up at 9:45 but the church starts at 8:00. Yeah so that's what I did this week I hope you have a MERRY X-MAS and may god bless you all.

Photo frame

Kia ora, my name is Daliz Betham and my sculpture is a photo  frame. It is made out of Popsicle sticks
and I stuck it together with hot glue gun. I made it as a gift for my parents,because I love them and they
love me back and they did everything for me and they have always cared for me, and I also made it to
show them that they matter to me and that I’m so glad to have parents like them in my life. In the frame
has a picture of my parents and my baby brother. I also made a blurb to go with my photo frame.

BEDMAS

This morning my maths teacher showed us a cool song about  BEDMAS. It helped a lot of us with our learning, it also help us put things in order.  Now we know that BEDMAS is another big part of our learning in maths. If you would like to watch the video here is the link to it.

Bellfontain is were I will remember our friendship.

One sunny day that it was like the sun is melting.Me and my friend Leilani just
came back from the shop with ice-cream in our hands. Heading home so tired
and hot we spotted a healthy beautiful tree all alone on a hill.  I told Leilani and
we raced for the hill thinking that it was a great spot to chill. We finally got
there,and the sun is about to set we felt the wind in our hair and watched the
sun as it sets.

The next day we went to the tree again and we played and played,we were
having so much fun. The other day we went again, under the tree became
our favourite spot and the tree became our friend, we also named it
“BellFontain”.

One nice day the sun wasn't that hot I went to Leilani’s house and there she
is, walking outside the house with a long sad face. She told me that they are
moving somewhere  but she has no idea where. I felt sad. They are moving
the day after tomorrow. We spent our last time with the tree and then the next
day they were gone.

Two years later I was fourteen and I was in year 9 I still remember my dearest
friend Leilani and then, one day after school I was walking home and then in
surprise Leilani hugged so tight that I couldn't speak.

I was so happy I felt joy in me that I get to spend time with leilani for the last
time, Because she's going back tomorrow morning. I remember Bellfontain we
went to  our tree and then we played around the tree before Leilani goes back
home. Bellfontain is where I will remember our friendship.

Ready fluently

We are learning to read fluently .We spent time
looking at phrasing-how we say
words together.Having expression in our voices is
important to!

Listen to audio recording. We did this to practice
fluency and to hear ourselves speak .

I think I sounded pretty good. My group were also
amazing at reading and doing their voices to match
their characters. I’m good at sounding like other
characters and I’m amazing  at
reading and also doing expressions. I need to work
on taking notice of the question marks and sound like
asking questions.

Paying forward

Explain why paying  forward is good.

1.When you pay it forward you realise that everything is
not only about you .

2.Show that they matter.

3.We appreciate their work & what they do.

We learned that paying forward is like showing others that someone cares about them and their work. My class room 3 has been sending loving messages to the teachers that we love because we want to pay it forward.

How to find the perimeter .

 
 In my maths class we learned how to measure the perimeter  and the area of a box. I did it by adding and multiplying.

Writing test: What makes you a good friend.

Hi there,I'm gonna give you three ideas to help you remember how to be a good friend, in the three following  paragraphs. Please read through.

My first idea is  encouraging your friends,and what I mean by that is telling
them to push through and keep on trying. For an example,when your best
friend tries to learn how to volley and he/she gives up,you can help him/her by
 telling them to keep trying and push through. And that can show them that
your a good friend.

My second idea is to be there for your friends when they need someone to talk
to. Like, when they feel sad or angry, you can be a good friend by talking to
them and asking them questions like”why are you sad/angry” and telling them
that your here if they want to talk.

My last idea is helping your friends in school work. What I mean   is  
 that you explain to them how to  work out the answer. For an example,when
their struggling to work out the answer in maths, you can help them by asking
them questions”like whats 30% in fraction?” and when they understand how t
o work out the answer they will know that you’ve been a good friend to them
and that they should do the same.

There you have it, three ideas to help you remember how to be a good friend.
And  I would really appreciated it if you use one of those ideas to be a good
friend to your friends.

How to be a good learner

Hi there,I'll  give you 3 ideas to help you  to be a good learner. Let me explain to you in the following paragraphs.

My first idea is to complete  every task that your teacher gives you. Yeah, that’s right and what I mean by that is that you shouldn’t be mucking around, but you have to finish your work. For example. When you finish your work,  proofread it and then you post it or hand it in. You’ll also get good marks on your report,and that shows that you’ve been a good learner at school.

My second idea is to ask questions,like when you don’t understand what the teacher is saying then you should ask a question to help you understand more and help you be a good learner.

My third idea is to be present everyday at school. That means, a good learner does well when they attend school always. When a learner attends everyday they are giving themselves more and more opportunities to learn.  A good learner comes to school everyday!

There you have it,3 ideas to help you be a good learner.

Cross country
On friday we were very excited to do the run and we were all dressed up in our house colours and it  was fun. Everyone looked amazing and happy. There are four house colours: Hikianalia is yellow, Hinemoana is blue, Te Aurere is red and Hokule’a  is green.

And it started down from the juniors to the seniors.All the juniors done very well and they finished their lap. And when we were about to run I felt nervous and I felt like I had butterflies in my tummy.


 Well I was doing very well on my first lap but the second, I was very tired. I felt anxious and  my legs were very sore. But I thought of my goal and that’s finishing my last lap strong and to cheer for others while their running.  And actually I   did achieve my goal. I felt really  proud of myself .   

Move ya body reflection week four

What have you accomplished this week?I have accomplished showing of our
talent and my group also accomplished of learning our whole dance.

What did you find challenging?What I found challenging was teaching the
boys their dance moves.

What has helped you to overcome these challenges?My friends helped me get
their attention and it really helped.

Did you enjoy dancing with your group?Yes,I really enjoyed dancing with my
group and we smashed it and even the boys were really amazing.

Rotations

Every day except for Friday we always have maths.
My maths teacher is Mrs Tele’a and we have two groups
and that's group A and B. What we do in maths is the Mrs Tele’a does DMIC with the group that is on the mat and the
other group does rotations.

Activities that are  in rotation is maths whizz,basic facts and
DLO.DMIC is my favourite activity because I would always l
earn new things, and I love working with Mrs Tele’a.

One thing that makes me nervous about maths is saying our
times tables to the class.  Mrs Tele’a uses a number generator,
the number relates to a person’s name. That person has to say
her/his timetables to the whole class.  While it makes me
nervous - I do very well in getting them correct in front of my
class.

Move ya body Reflection this week

What have you accomplished this week?This week me and my group and that is Sheena,Junior,Jayde,Mereana and Leonardy have been doing very well practising and we have learned a new skill and that's mauluulu and we also learned how to dance in Samoa.

What did you find challenging?The thing that I found challenging is finding some more actions for our dance.

What has helped you to overcome these challenges?My group was acknowledging me and they had some ideas and some really nice actions.

What do you need to prepare to share next week?We need to practise a lot and get ready to perform in front of the whole team 5 block.

Warm up for maths

 
This week we learned percentage,fraction and decimals and now I know how to compare them and it helped me improve my critical thinking skills in maths.

Tongan language

On Friday we always have our assembly at the hall.And I am always excited to see the student's who tried their best through the week.My favourite part was the jump jam and I had lots of fun dancing with my friends.

And finally the amazing Tongan group performed, they were fantastic and they all look amazing.
The people who were doing  the speech were very brave and  they look confident to do the speech .
And the girls looked gorgeous .The boys were also awesome.I want to say well done to the Tongan group!!!.

My dad's a driver

My Dad's a driver is a poem about a dad who works on the railway station.   I learned about new words and the railway by reading this poem.

For example I know shunt means shift at the railway station.  I also know what dawn means,it means early in the morning when you can see the sun starting to rise and you can also see mist in the air.

The one eye mother

There  once a single mother who gave birth to a baby boy name Simi and he was a beautiful cute baby boy. But his mother was a one eyed woman. When Simi was 9 years old ,he didn’t want his mother to go with him at school , because his friends makes fun of him saying”Eww! Simi ,your mother is a one eyed”. He hated his mother very much and sometimes  he tells himself “why does she has to be my mother I wish she disappears”. 

When he was an adult he had a family,wife, kids and he even bought a new  house,he didn’t want his mother to live with him. One day his mother knocked on the door to visit him and when his kid’s saw her they screamed and yelled. When Simi came up  he said sad things to his mother,he said “What are you doing here, how dare you scare my kids just go away we don’t want to see you”. When his wife asked “who is that” and he said “No it’s nobody”.His mother went home and cried so hard.

While she was crying she wrote a letter to Simi.  The next day she PASSED away. Simi heard a knock on the door and when he opened it ,it was a old woman standing at the door and she said “are you Simi?" he said yes and she said “I’m so sorry but your mother passed away",she gave him the address.

The next day  he went to his mother’s house and he found a letter saying “To my dear son ,I never had a chance to say that I love you very very much and that I’m sorry for scaring your kids and for embarrassing you  in front of your friends,but the reason I lost my eye is that when you were born I couldn’t stand looking at you because you were a one eye baby and I loved you so much I gave you my right  eye, buts it was okay for me because I would rather be make fun of then me seeing you embarrassed because of your eye. Even if you hate me I will still love you”. Love mother.
