Attitude Talk

Today in team 5, we had a talk with Jannah about friends factor. How you can make friends and how you can be a good friend. 

Jannah talked to us about how you can make friends. I learned that I can make friends by being myself instead of pretending of being someone else. I can also make friends by being confident and being positive rather of being negative and being a bully. For me, as a girl, it takes a lot of effort to keep my friendship. Sometimes I take too seriously. But I noticed that guy friendship doesn't take their friendship to far. That I might learn something from them and that's not taking my friendship with my friends too seriously. 

Use these tips and I'm sure that you can be a good friend and also make friends everywhere you go.

Why I love my friends

Why do you love your friends? Well today, I am going to be telling you why I love my friends in the three following paragraphs below.

My friends mean a lot to me because they also support me whenever I need help. It's like they are my support crew. They also stick beside me when I need help with my work or with something I'm doing in class. Like when I'm cleaning my classroom they always help me.

My friends always motivate me. The thing that I hate is running but they always encourage me to keep on going. Just like the time when we did our cross country last year. I was about to turn back because I was tired my legs were very sore but my friends run up to me and said: "Come on, Daliz we can do it". That's why I love my friends.

The third reason is that they always care for me.  Like they help me when I look busy with something.  For example, I'm a raining day monitor and I have to look after the little kids. I'm struggling to try to look after the other kids while the other kids are doing something wrong like drawing on the wall, my friends are always there to help me. That's why my friends are special to me.

Well, there you have it, three reasons why I love my friends.

Quick write( Island)

Walking between tress. Finding some peace and quiet. Everyone in the village doing what they are meant to do. I went for a swim and I got a cool shell from the bottom of the sea. Some people sewing mats some planting taros. All I did was playing with my shell. I listened inside and came noise of the sea splashing between the rocks. I looked at the ocean and saw my reflection.

Task Description:Today in room 3 literacy class we did quick writing but today it's about a island and this is the picture. Writing or describing whats on the picture without using "U" is very difficult but I manged to finish. This is how far I got.

DESCRIPTION: I have been learning about the deference's of the things in the old days and now days. On the top slide there are three things that I know that are different right now. For example the old days, the people used to go on carriage but now people go on cars.

My Job

Rainbows End is the best.

Have you ever been to Rainbows End? I have, well once, when we went on the year 7 trip last
year. Down below there are three statements that will explain to you why Rainbows End is fun
for you or your whanau.

The first reason why Rainbows End is the best place is that there are lots of fun and pleasant
rides that will blow you away. Some rides are not suitable for younger kids, but I believe that
there will be other remarkable rides for little kids like the Kids Kingdom. The scariest rides that
 I have been on is the Fear fall and the Stratosphere.

My second reason is that there are lots of delicious food and desserts that you can enjoy. Like,
hot dogs, popcorn's and Ice-cream in different flavors all for yourself. There is just too much
food that will make you want to die for.  Some places have a beautiful area that you can relax
and enjoy.

The third reason why is because you can go on a trip with your class. Your teacher can plan a
date for your class to Rainbows End. You can go on the bus and Y'all can go on any rides you
want because when you paid, all the rides are free even the kid's kingdom. You can all have
fun until the day is over.

There you have, three reasons why rainbows end is fun for you and your whanau.

Quick writing(war)

Thinking like fighting will make a big disaster. Being in a war is my biggest nightmare. Flying Planes screaming and yelling. Seeing killing and bleeding and wanting to retreat. Sleeping in tents praying that this will end. Thinking in my head "when is my last day". 

DESCRIPTION: In my literacy class we did our quick writing again and today there has to be no "O" which is kind a difficult to think of words  but I managed to write a simple paragraph.

Quick writing

Creatures wander around the bushes. Cold breeze around the trees. A long path led to nowhere.  A young lady name Sarah lost and confused about how she got lost through the woodland. She started a fire because she was scared. She starved for food and wanted water. 

WALT: Practise quick writing. Today in room 3 literacy class, Whaea Kelly asked us to do some quick writing without a "I" in it. That mean's no I in a single word when your writing. Actually this is how far I got.

Our day at Polyfest

On Wednesday the 13th of March team five went to the polyfest in Manukau. We
did lot's of activities and it was fun . When we got there, there were lots of other
schools waiting at the gate. We were the only Manaiakalani school wearing red. We
went to the other side of the polyfest and then we sat down. It was a beautiful day
but the sun was to hot. We sat down in about 10 or 15 minutes. After, we started
to do rotations. My group Pod four when first to the skipping activity and the other
one I forgot what its called. My partner was Petesa it was fun being with her. We
did a challenge with a skipping rope and it says that we have to do ten each to
make 40 or 50. Trendy and her partner won and then it was time...... we have to
challenge each other to see if who goes the longest. The last two was me and
trendy we were actually taking it seriously we were tired our legs were so sour
but then Trendy gave up and I won that challenge. Our next stop was the..... I also
forgot the name of that group but I still remember what we did. We have to
organise the flags to their islands. We were split into six groups. My group were
struggling because we keep on switching the flags. We tried our best but Marika's
group won and they won purple sunglasses. Our next rotation was the Tongan
group. We formed a circle and started playing a game called a thinking game.
Then we went to the Bright light community, we also did a game but it was about
teamwork we formed a chain by bending under and grabbing the others person
hand behind. The other group won flashy water bottle's. When we finished we
went and sat down in front of the stage and have lunch for about 15 minutes.
Then it was time for the performances but sadly there were no performance
but we did learn a dance it was so cool. But it was crowded  with people and kids.
Then it was time to head back to school. That's what we did on Wednesday.
My least favourite part about poly fest was the time when we waited in front
of the stage in the sun, but my favourite part was learning the cool dance
challenge.

Writing test

Introduction

Do you have any special places? Well, I do and it’s the Pt England beach. In the
three following paragraphs below I will explain to you why the beach is a special
place to me and my community.

1st Information

My first idea is having special occasions on the beach. Special occasion is like  having a birthday party or a celebration. Example my cousin had a birthday party and we decided to go down to the beach. We went to the beach and had lunch. We played music, we went  swimming. To me, that would be the best birthday party ever.

2nd Information 

My second idea is swimming in the sea with my friends in a hot sunny day. When the sun is hot and it feels like its melting you, you can head over to the beach. Example, I went to the beach on a sunny day with my friends. We had ice-blocks. I would also get to spend time with my friends.

3 rd Information 

My third and last idea for why is the beach special to me, is because I get to spend time with my whanau. When your going out with your family and you have no idea were to go to the beach is always available. You don’t pay for anything. Well,  my family and I always go to the beach because it’s always fun. We get to walk around the beach and eat sausage sizzle.

There you have it, I gave you three ideas for why is the beach so special to me
and my community. I will tell you that you will have a great time at the
Pt England beach with your friends or your whanau.

What we know about Guitar

At tech today, our subject is about what we now about the Guitar. I know some things about the guitar but with the help of my partner Maria with discovered lots of things about guitar like there are three types of guitar and some of the guitars only have six but some have five strings.

My Career Malaga

My home-class has been working on planning our Career Malaga.  

My career is very important to me and it's being a lawyer or being a business-woman. being a lawyer takes a lot of effort. My plan is that I'm going to work hard in school and also in college and after, I will go and study in university. The reason why I want to be a lawyer is because I want to travel overseas and help different people.

My support crew is actually my mum,  my teacher Mrs. Tele'a, my brother and my Dad. My mum motivates me to keep on studying my teacher Mrs. Tele'a helps me understand whenever I am confused and she also help's me concentrated on my work.  My brother and  my mum always helps me with my homework every night. My Dad helps me with my problems at school or at home.

Last is my Interest, Skills, Values and qualities. I actually have lot's of interest. They are,
 playing netball, Maths, Writing and improving my language. My skills are, playing Volleyball, Drawing, Swimming and reading. My values are the things that are very important to me. They are, my family, culture, church, education and my friends. My qualities are my personality. My personality is being confident, I'm smart, Helpful, making peace with each other, Hard working, Funny and I'm also honest.

Yeah these are some things that'a on my shield that will help me a lot in the future.

Relationship between numbers

Bedroom or Lounge?

If you bought a TV and your not sure were to put it whether in your room or your lounge. Well the best place is in your lounge. Let me explain to you why is the lounge is the best place in the three following paragraphs below.

The first reason why you should put it in the lounge is because when you put the TV in the bedroom your family member will be crowded in your room for the TV. They will also disturb you when your doing something important. Example, your doing something very important  and your family members rushed in your bedroom. You won’t focus to what your doing.

Second reason why you should put it in the lounge is because you wouldn't want your room to be untidy.  When you put the TV in the bedroom your friends or your family will get in your bedroom and make a big mess in your room . It's a good idea to put it in the lounge so there is space for everyone to watch the TV.

Third reason why the TV should go in the lounge is because you wouldn't want to be addicted to the TV. When you put the TV in your bedroom you will never sleep. Somehow it's better to put it in the lounge so that you won't get addicted to watching TV all night.

There you have,three reasons why you should put your TV in the lounge. If your gonna put it in your room then remember these things.

Making raro

My group, Chastity, Trendy, Terapi and myself solved a
problem and it was about ratios using raro. After we solved the
problem we decided to experience it by making it. These
are the steps:

1)Put 3 teaspoon of raro in the cups.
2)Put water inside.
3)Stir it up with a spoon.

A good role model

I am going to give you three ideas to help you be a good role model at school. These three ideas will help you a lot in learning too.

My first idea of how to be a good role model is by demonstrating good leadership.  When you know what needs to be done, step out and do it. It could be looking after younger children when no one older is around.  You could show leadership by being the first to volunteer when the teacher asks for help. If you do things like this people will respect and follow you as a role model.

My second idea is motivating others or your classmates. Motivating others is by doing good things to help them push through whenever they are stuck. When you help them and show  encouragement they will put all their effort into what their doing. This is the way of how to be a good role model.

My third idea is having good manners every time your in school or at home. Showing good manners is like showing your attitude or your personality. Just like when someone is talking to you,you can show good manners by speaking politely to that person.  Showing good manners is by saying “please,excuse me,thank you, apologising when you have done wrong or showing consideration to others.

My fourth idea is by speaking positive words because you wouldn’t want to hurt someone else’s feelings because of the negative words that you say. When you talk in a positive way it wouldn’t hurt anyone. Just like my parents they are my role models at home. They speak positive and I never heard them saying negative words to each other or to us. They taught us how to be careful for the words that we speak to other people. You can be a good role model to the little kids by speaking in a positive way. I assure you that they will follow your lead.

My fifth and last idea for how to be a good role model is by showing kindness even to people that you don’t like or disagree with. You should make an effort to be kind in school or at home and In any place you interact with others. When you are in school and you bumped into a teacher when she/he is struggling with books you can be a good role model by helping carry the books. You can do the same  at home or anywhere else.

Alright then, I gave you 5 ideas to help you. I assure you that you will definitely be a great role model by using these simple idea’s.
